Come to an Ed Dabney Riding Skills Clinic!
This clinic will be for anyone who has done a Six Keys clinic with Ed in the past. The dates are Saturday & Sunday, October 25 & 26, 2008. (You must have previously done a clinic with Ed or have his approval in case you know someone who may be interested.)
This clinic will be held at Suncatcher Farm in Green Creek outside of Columbus, NC.
The arena is large, covered and there will be stalls available. We have ordered great weather for the weekend! The cost is $300.00 for the two days and you may bring 1 auditor/groom/buddy with you at no charge. Audit fees for all others is $20.00 per day. Lunch is provided. Stalls will be available and are an extra cost. There are a few hookups for self-contained travelers and you can also camp out. Motels are about 10 - 14 miles from the farm. On Sunday afternoon starting at about 3:00 pm, there will be an Obstacle Challenge. This would be a fun challenge with you and your horse demonstrating your advanced skills that you have both learned. The course will be held in the arena and take about 5-8 minutes. It would include such things as ground work, mounting, some rail work, backing, and 4-6 obstacles. For all of those that ride in the challenge we will put your name in a bucket and the person who has their name pulled would then have the cost of the clinic refunded. We plan on a campfire cookout with Ed's poetry on Friday night. Bring a dish to pass, we provide drinks, meat, condiments & eating utensils. Private lessons will be available with Ed on Monday and Tuesday. Just let us know! We need to have commitments by September 15. We will be glad to take payments at the clinic.
Directions to Suncatcher Farm & the Ed Dabney Clinic:
From I-26 traveling west, take exit 1 (Landrum), turn right off ramp onto Landrum Road. If traveling east take same exit but turn left and go over the interstate. Stay on Landrum Road (14) for about 6 miles until you come to the intersection of NC #9. Turn south (right) on NC 9 for 2.4 miles. Turn left onto Green Creek Drive until you come to the stop sign. (.4 miles) Turn left again onto Coxe Road, go just .2 of a mile and turn right onto McIntire Road. Suncatcher Farm is 1.5 miles on the right.
